Yes, we encourage costuming and props! However, we have a strict no functioning weapons policy (as does the CMCC). Please use common sense—if an item could potentially be used as a weapon, we kindly ask that you leave it at home.

Yes, the Children’s Cosplay Contest will still take place on Sunday afternoon, starting at 4:00 PM. Please click HERE to visit the Children’s Cosplay Contest page for more details.

Press

These passes are being made available upon request for the following media outlets:

PRINT MEDIA: Print Media includes local newspapers, national newspapers, college newspapers, magazines etc. Hyperlocal publications and alternative newspapers will be considered based on the same criteria as the Internet press.

TELEVISION & RADIO: Television & radio include AM, FM, satellite, local television, and national television.

DIGITAL MEDIA: In order to even be considered for internet press credentials, you must fit the following criteria. You will not get a reply if you fail to reference these points in your email request. Preferably, you have a website or blog that posts content weekly. You must have at least two verifiable social media pages such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc. One of your social platforms must have more than 30,000 followers. Digital Media press is limited to 1 pass unless you agree to post about Boardwalk Comic Con before and after the event with a link to our website.

REGIONAL OR NATIONAL MEDIA: Podcasts, Radio, television, or print publications that are not local to Myrtle Beach SC must meet the digital media criteria to obtain press passes.

NOTE: If you are not approved for “free” press credentials, you may still purchase a ticket to the show and report on the show that way. As well, having a press badge does not guarantee any interviews. If you are looking to interview any guests at the show for your website, please contact press@boardwalkcomiccon.com in advance.

Please note it will be VERY hard to set up interviews on the fly during the event. Passes are decided on a case-to-case basis at the discretion of Boardwalk Comic Con staff. If you are granted a press pass, we require that you do a piece/share information regarding Boardwalk Comic Con two weeks before the event and a follow up piece one week after the event.

Boardwalk Comic Con is a family friendly event; any content that mocks or disparages attendees or guests or uses the event as a source for derisive humor will result in the applicant being permanently banned from future events. Many of our celebrities have agreements to do advanced interviews with press, but very few agree to conduct interviews on site. We will work with you to help secure possible advance information and potential interview opportunities with Boardwalk Comic Con staff and/or guests. You will also be added to the mailing list for any related press releases.

HOW TO APPLY FOR PRESS PASSES: Please complete all the information boxes below. NOTE: Your press pass is not approved unless you receive a confirmation email from Boardwalk Comic Con. Do not assume it is approved and just show up. ALL approved press passes are sent confirmations in advance.
